It's colour week at Stay and Play

Is your child 18 months to pre-school entry? Come and play, meet the team and find out what we are all about.  Younger siblings are welcome. Please see below for details or contact preschoolmanager@northrepps.norfolk.sch.uk

Mash Potato

We had a wide range of veg in our autumn shop, which was open for two weeks (before we turned it into a Firestation). There were squashes and pumpkins, multi-coloured carrots, potatoes, corn and much more. We explored vegetables in so many different ways - by weighing them, painting them and using them as props for an impromptu farm scene.

And one day one of our peers said "can we make mash with this potato?". And so we set to work picking out the green ones "yucky yuck potatoes" and planning what we needed.

The adults helped us along the way by showing us how to use utensils and holding our potatoes when "it keeps slipping and sliding"

We carefully chopped the potato.

"I'm gonna plop that potato in there!"

We took a timer outside and played a few rounds of hide and seek whilst the potatoes boiled.
"Watch out here come the mashy machine"

Everybody tried some and there were suggestions of making chips next time. Watch this space to see what other culinary delights come from the kitchen over at Northrepps Primary School...

The Gruffalo

One of our favourite stories is the The Gruffalo. Corallie Murray our Co-chair of Governors came to share it with us and also brought along Mouse.

Is just so happened that The Playhouse theatre in Norwich were showing it, so we joined up with Little Brown Hare Pre-School and set on a Gruffalo adventure to the theatre, along with Corallie.

We got the seats ready on the bus.

And off we went!

We ate lunch together before the show and found our seats.

It's about to start. Come on Gruffalo. Where are you hiding?

Much fun was had by all, so much so that some of us had a snooze on the way back home. We can't wait for our next adventure with Little Brown Hare.
